ピアニスト、電子音楽家である中村浩之と、サックス奏者でありミキシングエンジニアの 宇津木紘一により2011年に結成。 クラシック出身とジャズ出身という違うフィールドの2人でありながら、共同で作曲、演奏、エレクトロニクスを駆使し、 生楽器と電子音の新しい融合を試みるというコンセプ トで活動。その音楽はアンビエント、ジャズ、クラシック、シューゲイザー、ベースミュージック、 ヒップホップ、グリッチと様々な音楽を融合し、膨大な情報量を有してる。 一時期活動を休止していたが、2014年から再び活動を開始。 2015年9月13日に1st album「Intersecting」を発売。
Formed in 2011 by pianist / electronic music artist NAKAMURA hiroyuki and sax performer / mixing engineer UTSUGI koichi. Hailing from different musical backgrounds in classical and jazz respectively, the duo makes full use of each member’s composition, performance and production skills to breathe new life into their concept of “finding new ways to combine raw or live instruments with electronic music.” Incorporating ambient, jazz, classical, shoegazer, bass music, hip hop, glitch and other elements, UN.a creates a multilayered, entropy-rich sound that raises the bar for new jazz and electronic music.
After a temporary hiatus, UN.a restarted activities in 2014.
Intersecting, their debut album, comes out on September 13, 2015.
