2019年にローファイ・ヒップホップとアンビエントの折衷を試み続けたTOMCの2020年初作『Lunar Maria』は、100%サンプリング製法によるアンビエント/ニューエイジ～サウンドアートEP。今作も過去の作品群と同様、全曲がフリー波形編集ソフトAudacityのみを活用して制作されている。
各曲のタイトルはTOMCが大学在学中に研究を行ったアメリカ文学作品が引用されており、それぞれハーマン・メルヴィル『白鯨』(1851)、ポール・オースター『ムーン・パレス』(1989)、ミランダ・ジュライ『いちばんここに似合う人』(2007)を取り上げつつ、月面に実際に存在する「水のない海(月の海)」を共通のテーマとしてコンパイルした作品となっている。
ドローン的表現を基調としながらもドラマチックな曲展開を見せる「文学愛好家のためのサウンドアート」作品として、電子音楽マニアに留まらない幅広い層に開かれた作風が志向されている。

プロデューサー・ビートメイカー・DJ。
即興演奏者およびディスコDJとしてキャリアをスタートし、その後ビートメイカーとしてメキシコ PIRA.MD Records、ポルトガル MiMi Records など海外諸国からアルバム・EPをリリース。近年ではアルバム ‘Yesternow Once Now’ (2017) 、EP ‘Blockchainers’ (2019) 等を日本の電子音楽レーベル PURRE GOOHN より発表している。
古今東西の楽曲スタイルに都市の環境音や日常の生活音を交え、2010年代以降のビートミュージックの方法論に基づき完成される多層的・折衷主義的な作風で知られる。
エッジーな音楽性の一方で非常に柔軟な活動方針を標榜しており、企業委嘱による作品制作やオフィスビル～ハッカソン等での長時間DJプレイのほか、レコードコンビニをはじめとする東東京の新興クリエイティブシーンとの多種多様な交流でも知られる。

TOMC embarked on his music career first as an improv artist and disco DJ, before going on to release albums and EPs as a beatmaker on PIRA.MD Records (Mexico) and MiMi Records (Portugal) and several overseas countries. In recent years he have released LP ‘Yesternow Once Now’ (2017), and EP ‘Bake The House’ (2018) from PURRE GOOHN.
He is renowned for his eclectic, genre-defying plunderphonics / sampledelia music, blending post-2010s beat methodology with all ages music styles around the world and environmental sounds of urban city life.
He continues to expand his range in roles, such as a commissioned creator from enterprises, a marathon DJ at public spaces (e.g., office buildings, hackathons and so on), and he’s known as a key person of the emerging creative scene of East Tokyo including ‘record conveni’.
He is renowned for his abstract, genre-defying music and unique approaches to sound processing, blending post-2010s beat methodology with powerful, collage-influenced styles that draw on kraut rock, post punk, and everything in between.
